PCB & BCCI Finalized Asia Cup Schedule.

The schedule of Asia Cup in Pakistan and Sri Lanka in this year’s has been finalized. The tournament, which will follow a 50-over format, is scheduled to start from August 31 and ended on September 17, 2023 and the official schedule is expected to be released on Friday this week.
According to The Press Trust of India, the Asian Cricket Council has adopted a hybrid model for the tournament in wich the first 4 matches to be played in Pakistan, and all the remaining 9 matches in Sri Lanka.
The most interesting match between Pakistan and India will take place in Dambulla, Sri Lanka. Pakistan’s only home match will be against Nepal is likely to be played in Lahore.
The other three matches which will be played in Pakistan between Afghanistan vs Bangladesh, Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan.
The schedule was finalized in a meeting between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President.
The meeting took place on Tuesday at the International Cricket Council (ICC) annual meeting in Durban, South Africa. Current Indian Premier League chairman Arun Dhumal said, “Our secretary met PCB chief Zaka Ashraf and the Asia Cup schedule was finalized as discussed earlier.
The tournament’s four league stage matches wil be played in Pakistan, and other nine matches in Sri Lanka. The teams participating in the Asia Cup, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal, will participate in a total of 13 ODIs. There are two groups in which teams are divided.
The 1st group includes Pakistan, India and Nepal while 2nd group includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
